COMMITTEES

Duties of Committees

Committees are to be composed of participants that volunteer and/or are selected from the Associations’ active membership. The Board will determine the size of any committee. All committees shall include at least one Director from the Board as a member. All committees are responsible to the Board.

Standing functional committees shall be defined, but not necessarily limited to:

1 Business Development/Community Liaison

Responsible for fund-raising and donor development efforts as well as garnering local business and association support.

2 Education

Responsible for planning educational and information seminars.

3 Finance

Prepare annual budgets, conduct audits, and report financial status. The Treasurer is the chair of the Finance Committee.

4 Government Affairs

Monitor policies and activities of local, provincial and federal government agencies as related to our Sturgeon Bay Pointe au Baril area.

5 Water Quality/Marinelife

This committee will work directly with associated local, provincial and federal government agencies and or other interested groups.

6 Shoreline/Wildlife

This committee will work in conjunction with all related local, provincial and federal agencies and other interested groups.

7 Communication

This committee will be responsible for our web-site, newsletters, general mailings, and advertising.

8 Marine and Navigation Safety

This committee will be responsible for swimming and boating education safety, navigational buoys and channel markers.

9 Liaison

This committee will represent our Association and our goals. It will communicate with and contribute to other associations/organizations that are consistent with our mission. (e.g. F.O.C.A., P.A.B.I.A., G.B.A., Chamber of Commerce etc.)
